About Me

Back in February 1978, I had just had my 14th birthday when I heard a song called “Take Me, I’m Yours” on BBC Radio 1. I couldn’t believe how exciting it was. I had never heard anything as good before in my life. I heard it once more and felt even more strongly about it. As I walked home from school, I told myself that if I heard it again on the radio when I got home and still liked it, I would go out and buy it. At home I switched on the wireless on the kitchen table and the familiar introductory bars of the synthesiser riff started. I went out that Saturday and spent 75 pence on ‘the Squeeze single’ as it said on the sleeve. It was the second single I ever bought. My life has never been the same since.

David and Glenn

Over 26 years later, here I am. In that time, I’ve been to see them many times, all over the country. I’ve helped out their fan club. I did work experience in their management company office. I’ve amassed one of the largest collections of memorabilia, photos, records and memories of Squeeze. This is my chance to share those times with you. I hope you get the same pleasure out of this site as I’ve had from listening to Squeeze.

And “Take Me, I’m Yours” is still my favourite single.

All best wishes

David
